Most of our products come with a limited warranty. Consult your owner's manual for the warranty period offered with your product. Note that our warranties cover only the failure of the product to operate as designed and exclude all painted finishes.
We offer replacement parts on a limited number of products. These include screws, bolts and nuts on fire pits and fire rings that require assembly. Consult your owner's manual or contact us at service@blueskyoutdoorliving.com or 1-800-459-4409 (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, CST).
Our fire pits are designed for use with wood pellets or firewood only. Do not burn charcoal briquettes, lump charcoal, manufactured logs, driftwood, trash, leaves, paper, cardboard, plywood or painted, stained or pressure-treated wood. Do not use dangerous flammable liquids such as gasoline, alcohol, diesel fuel or kerosene to light or relight fires. We recommend using a fire starter to get the initial burn going.
If you purchase food-grade pellets, it is safe to cook food over the flames. Please note that these fire pits generate high heat. You will need to let the fire burn down before you cook food on the fire pit.
When used correctly, our smokeless fire pits will produce significantly less smoke than a conventional fire pit. These fire pits have a double-wall construction. Outside air is pulled into the bottom ring of holes on the burn chamber and moves through the hollow wall up to the inside ring of holes. The heated air is released through the inner ring of holes into the top of the burn chamber, infusing the fire with an extra boost of oxygen which improves the burn. The improved burn vaporizes wood particles, creating little to no smoke or embers.
To assure that your fire pit produces as little smoke as possible, fill it no more than 2” (5 cm) deep with wood pellets. Make sure the wood pellets are spread evenly through the fire pit, including against the walls of the burn chamber. Add wood pellets slowly and in small quantities, as adding wood will cause the fire to burn cooler and may produce smoke. We recommend using a long-handled metal scoop.
Yes, all surfaces of this fire pit are hot when in operation. To avoid burns and injury, do NOT touch this fire pit until the fire is out and has completely cooled. Exercise the same precautions as you would with any open fire. Keep children and pets away from the fire pit while it is in use.
Our smokeless fire pits can be used on hard, level surfaces such as flat concrete pavers, concrete patio stones, or a gravel or sanded area. Do not use on asphalt, or directly on a wooden or composite wood deck. We recommend placing the fire pit on flat concrete pavers or concrete patio stones when used on a concrete patio, concrete driveway or brick work to avoid discoloration of a permanent structure. Make sure all plastic cloth, grass/weeds, and other flammable materials are removed to avoid contact with the fire pit.
No, our fire pits are only for outdoor use. Do not use under a patio roof, low hanging branches, trellis, patio umbrellas, arbors, pergolas or overhangs of any kind including covered porches. Burning wood produces carbon monoxide, which has no odor and can cause death if burned in enclosed areas.
It will take about 10-15 minutes for the fire pit to get hot enough for flames to get a strong blaze. The initial load will burn about 25-35 minutes before you need to add pellets.
Once you’re ready for the fire to burn out, simply stop adding pellets. If you dowse the fire with water to end the burn prematurely, you may damage your fire pit. One of the great aspects of using pellets is that, once the fire burns out, it is out. There is no more need to worry about hot embers overnight or the next morning, like you do with traditional fire wood.
Wood pellets are offered at a variety of retailers: Tractor Supply, Menards, Walmart, Lowe’s, etc. Check with your local retailer to find out if they sell wood pellets.
Yes, our portable fire pit comes with a carrying bag for your convenience. Our design allows the fire pit to nest together for easy, compact, and efficient transport. When your portable fire pit is not in use, we suggest storing in this bag to help prevent rusting.
The fire pit should not be left outside uncovered when not in use. Exposure to weather, heavy use and UV rays may cause this product to develop a rusted patina. Store your fire pit in a dry location out of the weather to ensure continued use or consider purchasing one of our protective covers to extend the life of your fire pit.
Our fire pits are constructed of steel, which is susceptible to rust when exposed to outdoor conditions and fire. The unique design of our smokeless fire pits can generate heat in the burn chamber that can exceed 1,200 °F (650 °C). While we paint our fire pits with high temperature heat resistant paint, there are no commercially available paints suitable to meet these extremes. With use and time, these fire pits will show signs of rust. This will not impact the performance of the fire pit. The paint can be touched up with high-temperature paint, which is used on BBQ grills and other high heat appliances and can be found at most hardware stores.
The thickness varies throughout the product. The steel thickness on portable fire pits varies from 2.5 mm to 1 mm, or 12 to 19 gauge. The steel thickness on the patio fire pits varies from 2.5 mm to 1.5 mm, or 12 to 17 gauge.
This fire pit includes a dusty patina that looks like rusted metal. There will be rusting residue on the panels when you first receive it. This shedding will not impact the performance of the fire pit. We recommend that you wear old or work clothes, an apron or protective clothing when unpacking the fire pit. Wipe each piece with a dry cloth prior to assembly. The residue material is not harmful, but we recommend washing your hands after assembly.
